These are door hangers I designed for Gillen Pest Control in Houston, Texas. They are designed to be used in the neighborhoods of homes where Gillen’s technicians have eliminated a specific pest. There are seven versions in total ranging from ants to snakes. If the Gillen technician just completed a job removing roaches from a home, he would place the door hanger featuring a roach on the front doors of neighboring houses or apartments alerting them of the specific risk of roaches in their area.
The alarming images of the specific pests are placed close to where the recipient’s hand would reach for the door knob, maximizing the psychological immediacy of the situation. Black and yellow are used to symbolize that this is a warning signal.
